Interrupted by Simplicity

We will continue our discussion about current revival at a later date. Right now, we are being interrupted by a God Who loves us and wants to communicate to us very quiet, very workaday concepts through the retraction of amenities.

It honestly isn’t that bad, or at least that is what I’m supposed to learn through this.

I’m currently without electricity. Technology is failing me right and left. As a family, we have blown up like three iChargers to power our magic devices in the last couple months. So we go to the library today just to try to get some work done, update some web stuff, and check email. …And our email won’t even work.

We have been slowed down. Unplugged life, you know. It’s not all bad.

This week, our world has been sawed down and simplified, appreciating earlier evenings when the sun goes down and little things like books and candlelight. And reading the Bible to our kids instead of sometimes getting lazy and letting a robot inside our iPhone do it for us. Seriously, this isnt so bad. I mean, my kids are happy. My wife is happy. I suppose, I should just accept it and be happy too. It’s not that bad, you know, getting back to basics, serious basics. We have food. We have friends and fellowship. Our water heater still works. Our church is growing and our toilet flushes….

It’s not that bad at all.

I am thanking The Lord today for KEEPING us. You know, He does save AND keep us…provide-protect-empower. He is good, all the time….

If we just let Him.
