Psalm .006: The Inverted Cross

Psalm .006: The Inverted Cross
*a droning lament to be puked up or puked out. Vomit prophesy…played repentantly slow on the instruments of doom. With nothing but sludge as its ally.

One day, the Church I love turned the Cross of Christ upside down.
The Bride willfully stained her brilliant white garments with the blood of swine…dumping buckets of refuse and filth upon herself as if possessed.
O’ wretched Gomer, why-o’-why have you committed this abomination?!
You…no we…have defiled that ages-old marriage bed.
We have slept with sin, mated it…and Lucifer is a horrid bedfellow.
He is now more at home in the company of saints than the sinners he has already ravaged.
Ah Lord God! (A cry reserved for the bedraggled prophet),
We the idol-indulging whore have adopted the imagery of hell!
So help us White Horse Rider,
we have turned your cross upside down.
Not like Peter and his glorifying death.
Not in an ironic way either.
We have uprooted and twisted,
We have bathed in excrement and crimson.
Cockeyed and clockwise have we treated the Cross.
Come swiftly and right the tipping, slipping Bride.
For she was bought with the price of purity.
But she snuck out and went a’ prostituting.

So Inverted it will stand until we repent.

Come swiftly and right YOUR tipping, slipping Bride.
For she was bought with the price of purity.
But she snuck out and went a’ prostituting.
Used, abused, beaten, smitten.
Mocked, hawked, drugged and cold-cocked
Now she slumps, half denuded…
For sale on the altar of slaves.
