Glen Kaiser to perform @ HeBrews Coffee & Music!

I’m pleased as punch to inform you, the Internet world, that well-known Christian musician Glen Kaiser will be performing at our very own HeBrews Coffee & Music this coming Saturday, February 18th at 7:30. This is an awesome kickstarter to HeBrews being a full-functioning coffee shop and outreach hub again. Our Tribe members Alex & Riley Fields are now heading this ministry up and we expect big things out of them with more events and concerts coming UP soon.

It also happens to be the Lord’s great timing bringing Mr. Kaiser to Iron River. You see, 30-something years ago, Glen and his wife Wendy, along with some other hippies in a bus (sound familiar), embarked on music ministry and communal living. The only Way for many Jesus Freak hippies of their time. What came of this was eventually the Resurrection Band, one of the first and greatest Jesus Rock bands of all-time…and also a thriving Christian community in Chicago called Jesus People USA. JPUSA, as it is also called, then started Cornerstone Music Festival which has been monumental in forming the major thrust and backbone of the Christian Music world over the last 25 years. My family and I were partakers in C-Stone when I was in high school, and I have been there around a dozen times since, now taking my little girls and my wife. I would have to say that Cornerstone gave a platform for music and musicians that were extremely integral in my spiritual upbringing and I am incredibly indebted to them for that.

So, with great expectancy and excitement, do we invite Glen to our little, out-of-the-way ministry in the U.P. of Michigan. And I muse at the plans and procedures of the Almighty in connecting us very formidably with two of the greatest Christian Communes of the last 50 years. The other would be the pastor and founder of Shiloh House and House of Miracles (John Higgins), taking us under his wing two years ago…and becoming a beloved mentor of mine.

As for this visit, we can’t wait to hear Glen Kaiser’s gifts in the art of the blues and also his heart as he shares and teaches on Sunday at our church. Surely, great things the Lord IS NOW DOING–presently! And great things He will continue to do as we pursue Him in obedience, further up and further in….

If you are in the area or can be this weekend, please come by and hear Glen and watch as God is quickly putting the pieces together, in our midst, for a blessed revival amongst His northern saints.

    • Joshua M. Brindle says:

You said it Terry, thanks for the comments. Have we met before? By the way….

      • Terry says:

Kinda, sorta…I attended a worship conference at the Appleton Calvary Chapel last summer, and I noticed your booth. I think I may have talked to someone briefly…
This past Jan. I found your blog online. The more I read (of your blog) the more i liked.

I really enjoyed your stories about travelling with the band…It reminded me of those crazy days of my youth when I was in bands and we would drive for HOURS and then set up (stereo PA…32 Par can light show…personal gear)Our diet consisted of Mountain Dew and Snickers and sleeping in a bed was a luxury…..Good times… good times…One band I was in, “Wise To The World”, played at the Cup O Joy in Green Bay… But…that was back in the 90’s.

      • Joshua M. Brindle says:

Awesome Terry. Awesome. I actually taught one of the afternoon sessions at that conference this last June. God is doing so much…it has been quite the ride. It is even more exciting now and we aren’t even covering tons of miles on the road!

  3. Terry in Dubuque says:

Ya know, traveling can be a blast. New places, and new faces; however, we can see great fruit when we are planted in a place and doing the work of the Kingdom.

Let me encourage you today and say this…God has you right where He wants and needs you. Stand fast, and give God all the glory!!

1Cr 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

      How did Saturday night go???

      • Joshua M. Brindle says:

Really, really well. Glenn’s concert was awesome, but it was more about what he had to say when he spoke during the set and on Sunday morning during his message. Challenging stuff, not for the faint of heart….
