Is it wrong, when you are leading worship, to want to yell? To want to scream? To want to grab congregants and drag them to the top of the hill you have spent precious energy taking…the place where you currently wave the banner of the LORD from???!!! Is it wrong to display zeal…to raise the voice and lift the hands? Wrong to spit through your teeth with both uncontrollable passion and a bursting heart for the lost? We NEED to be holy! We NEED to rally and call to arms! War is upon us!
Do you know who else knew these things in their generations?
Leonard Ravenhill, Allan Redpath, Oswald Chambers, A.W. Tozer, Evan Roberts, Reese Howells, George Whitfield…and many, many others.
Did these men do it “right?” Yes. No? Do unction and passion and the power of the Holy Ghost cover a multitude of sins?
Do we want the exceedingly, abundantly more??? Do we??!! Why not? Why won’t we lift our hands…why won’t we get in the fight…why won’t we move?
I don’t know all the answers, but I really believe that we need a fresh wind and a fresh fire. Away with stale and inflexible worship. We NEED to pound it out, blow the shofar, blast the sound system, strum hard enough to break strings, sing until our voices can’t keep up with our hearts.
God help us…we need to wake up.
Sometimes we suck so bad at honoring the God who died for us.
(this picture was taken at the Calvary Chapel Senior Pastor’s Conference, where men were INDEED loving the Lord through worship and life…thank You Jesus)
